Hello, my name is Tammy Misner. I’m an expat in the archipelago of Bocas Del Toro, Panama (BDT). BDT consists of 9 main islands and 100s of small remote islands on the Caribbean coast of Panama.

As most of you may know, the government has officially announced school closure for the 2020 school year. For many schools around the world, teachers are teaching students online when they have a computer, laptop, or tablet.   

Many of the locals don’t have the means to purchase these devices. Most have no income and very little help from the government therefore, I made a gofundme page.

My goal is to purchase 50 Amazon tablets with WiFi and printer capabilities along with covers, screen protectors and the educational software required by the school to lend to the families with students who do not have devices at home.  Including the shipping & handling fees to get them to Bocas each tablet would cost $180.

I will be reaching out to local businesses that are closed due to COVID-19 to allow children safe place with WiFi access to continue their education.  (Practicing social distancing of course.)
