This may be a boring blog to some of you and it may sound crazy, but it’s my personal observation. My allergies have gotten much better and are less than half of what they used to be since I have been down here in Panama.
I went to an ENT back in December. He wanted to run more allergy tests (which I already had done about 3 years ago), and put me on a nasal irrigation machine. I didn’t do the test again but I did the irrigation machine for about 2 weeks and started feeling worse. I thought I was getting a cold. I was blowing my nose and sneezing constantly so I stopped the machine because it was making it worse. I ended up having a sinus infection and was on 16 days of antibiotic. It cleared up for about a week and then just before I left the country my allergies were acting up again.
As you may recall, I was in New Orleans the last weekend in the states. While there I would wake up coughing or sneezing and blowing my nose. UGH! When I got to Panama the first couple of days I still felt like my allergies were still a problem. I purchased some Afrin at the phamacia and used it once every morning for 3 days and each day it got better. I feel like it cleaned my system of all the nasty stuff I collected from the states.
I haven’t been using the Afrin or my allergy meds for the past 4 days. I may sneeze once or twice a day but I actually feel like my allergies are going away. I don’t know if it’s the climate change here, there is no pollen maybe? I’m sure there has to be mold around here but honestly, I don’t see it or smell it in the air like I did in Florida.
I’ve also been enjoying the fresh foods! I went to the market and bought fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, avacodo, onion, cilantro, lemons, limes, oranges and then to the fresh meat market and bought some fresh shrimp and made a shrimp civiche. So delicious and healthy!
I’m feeling better than I ever felt before! I’m breathing fresh non polluted air, eating fresher foods and walking everywhere. So far, everything is looking good!!
